Little known facts

Here are some random tidbits you may or may not know about me:

I am obsessed with all things pumpkin – obviously.  I’ve made it known before how I much adore Fall.

And then there’s Christmastime – I live for this time of year.  I surprisingly don’t get super crazy about decorating or gift-giving, but just seeing the holiday through the eyes of my kiddos – there’s nothing like it.

I worked for a television show for 5 years prior to having kids.  When I worked in TV, I finally understood what it was like to have a career that didn’t feel like “work.”  Prior to that, I was in the financial industry.

I have always been a fast test-taker.  Like lightning speed.  I was never one to dwell on the multiple choice answers – just pick one, and move on.  I was the first person to turn in my test 90% of the time in school.

I have always had an obsession with the Olympics.  And since I was a News Researcher for NBC, I was able to put that knowledge to good use for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, the 2008 Beijing Summer Games and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

I used to know about every MLB stat there was.  As an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, I have seen them play at 9 stadiums (plus I’ve been to 4 more).  Once I moved to Los Angeles, I lost interest a bit since I couldn’t really follow them on TV anymore.  And now I am a Dodger fan by marriage.

I have snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, wine tasted in New Zealand and toured Italy – and I don’t think the travel bug has ever left me.  It will be awhile until I resume overseas travel, but I can’t wait to do it again – hopefully with my whole family!

I love to cook, and find it therapeutic.  There is something that relaxes me when I’m chopping, sautéing, mixing – I love concocting new creations.  I think it feeds a part of my soul to wind down in this way.

The beach is my happy place.  And growing up in the Midwest, I didn’t see the ocean until I was in high school.  Now I live near it – something I could have never anticipated.  I feel incredibly blessed and do not take it for granted.

There you have it.  Happy Wednesday!

    1. NZ was amazing!! Australia wasn’t too much culture shock in my opinion. Italy was still my fave – and lucky you got to live there! Talk about jealous!! 🙂 xo
